Wings & Wheels Car and Air Show!
Wings & Wheels is an annual family event located at Hummel Airfield in Topping, Virginia. Bring your friends and family out on September 26th, 2009 from 8:00am to 4:00pm to enjoy the automobiles, aircrafts, food and craft vendors, and prizes ! This Wings & Wheels festival will be our 12th show, and we are expecting the greatest turnout yet - rain or shine! There is free admittance and parking for visitors; however, donations are appreciated.

Wings & Wheels 2002
Things are starting to take shape for Wings and Wheels 2002. This special car and air event will be held on Saturday, September 28th. This year we will be recognizing the Old Dominion Historical Firefighters Association. We hope to have many various antique fire trucks on display together with historical information and displays. NASA hopes to be bring a new exhibit on the new "SATS" (Small Aircraft Transportion System) as well as other valuable and interesting informtion and hands-on displays.
Wings & Wheels 2001
Plans are now in full force for Wings and Wheels 2001. The big day will be Saturday, September 29, 2001, at Hummel Air Field in beautiful downtown Topping, Virginia.
We will be honoring the Civil Air Patrol this year and many items are scheduled to be on display for your enjoyment.
A band, drill team, and color guard will be demonstrating their skills. There will also be a vintage air craft as well as many historical items.
The Remax hotair balloon will be there, weather permitting, as well as all types of air craft, helicopters, and antique and specialty cars. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary from Milford Haven, Virginia, will be represented with several of their boats and displays.
"Coasty", a remote control vessel, will also be present as well as the presence of one of their helicopters.
The Rappahannock Rifle and Pistol Club will have an educational display as well as many other fine organizations and clubs. The Gloucester High School electric car will also be a main feature this year.
A new addition this year will be the exhibit of several old tractors and steam engines.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE ... THE RUNWAY WILL BE CLOSED FOR A PERIOD OF APPROXIMATELY 60 TO 90 MINUTES, BEGINNING AT NOON.
There will be several demonstrations during that time period, including a CLT by the Civil Air Patrol and a special run of a Casey racing bike.
Wings & Wheels 2000
Plans are now underway for Wings and Wheels 2000.
This year there will be a special tribute to "Chesty" Puller .
This will be the one event that you do not want to miss.
The U.S. Marine Corp band will be present as well as a display of
General Puller's personal metals, sword and other memoralibilia.
Wings and Wheels 2000 is presented by Middlesex County
and Friends of Hummel Airfield.
The show is an Antique, Classic and Ultralight aircraft Fly-in and
a British, European, American and Exotic Car Show.
"Show Time" is Saturday, September 30, 2000, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm.
This event will be held at the Hummel Airfield in "uptown" Topping (W-75),
which is approximately 60 miles east of Richmond.
There is a $3.00 parking fee for visitors with proceeds going to our local Fire Department as well as other charities.
Show cars and planes are asked to pre-register prior to September 1st.
There is a $7.00 fee for pre-registration this year and a $10.00 fee for late registration.
Vendors are asked to pre-register also, prior to September 1st.
Last year's showing included 154 motorcars, 14 Exotic cars, and 93 aircraft as well as approximately 6,000 spectators. This year should bring over 10,000, hundreds of aircraft and automobiles, as well as many more craft and food vendors, so plan ahead to be there.
There will be all types of food as well as many arts and crafts vendors.
There will be demonstrations by the model airplanes club, NASA,
military choppers, Virginia State Police Chopper, United Stated Coast Guard,
VAHS, Leo Barber flight school, the Remax hotair balloon, exotic automobiles,
an electric car, and many other items.
Numerous awards will also be given out to the various aircrafts and automobiles,
so don't miss this special day.

IN THE LIST OF PRIZES ARE - A 20 MINUTES INTRODUCTORY FLIGHT IN AN ULTRALITE by ICARUS AVIATION (value $30.00), A ONE HOUR FLIGHT INSTRUCTION by ICARUS AVIATION (value $80.00), and ONE SESSION HERBAL FACIAL AND FLEXOLOGY (FOOT MASSAGE) by THE RIGHT TOUCH (value $50.00). More prizes to come! Proceeds to be donated to various local charities.
Wings & Wheels 1999
The Fourth Annual Wings and Wheels Car/Air Event was a great success ... thanks to hard, undying work of Jamie Barnhardt, Bob Crump, Annette Grant, Ann Smith, and many other people and organizations together with the financial and personal support of Middlesex County and the Board of Supervisors.
The weather was absolutely beautiful. The gates opened at 9:00 a.m. and prayer was given by Pastor Terry Sharp. There was an estimated 6,100 spectators, 150 show cars, and 90 various types of aircraft. With all types of food and fun available for people of all ages, no one left without a smile and a good time. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 30, 2000 for the Fifth Annual Wings and Wheels. It should be even more spectacular.
